Clean Air Day 2021
Clean Air Day is fast approaching, and with less than 2 weeks to go until the big day of Thursday 17th June, it’s time to start thinking about how you will be travelling that day.
Air pollution is a health issue, it causes up to 36,000 deaths each year in the UK, and over 20,000 respiratory and cardiovascular hospital admissions a year in the UK.
Transport is one of the biggest polluters and although changing your journey from a car to walk or cycle journey might seem like a little change, imagine if everybody did it!
If you are planning to drive, think about how much of your journey is sat idling. If you need your car for dropping your kids at school on the way to work, could you park further away from school and walk to avoid pollution around the school? There are lots of alternative options available for you and it would be great if you started to make a change on Clean Air Day.
