Free Online Workouts!
Due to the latest advice from Government we would urge you to limit any time outside the house for daily exercise. We have compiled a list of free exercise resources available online, that you can use to stay active while staying at home.
Joe Wicks (aka. The Body Coach) is broadcasting live 30 minute workouts every Monday to Friday at 9am on his YouTube channel. The classes are suitable for all ages, but are particularly great for school age kids missing out on running around and PE lessons at School! Don’t worry if the early start doesn’t work for you, each video is available on Joe’s YouTube channel once the live workout has finished! Subscribe for free so it’s easy to find.
Popular 90s fitness instructor Mr Motivator will be returning to our screens next week in a new daily TV show HealthCheckUK Live, starting on BBC on Monday 30th March at 10am. The show will bring you tips on how to stay active whilst we Stay at Home. Mr Motivator will be joined by Dr Xand van Tulleken and Angela Rippon, each episode will be available online on BBC Iplayer shortly after the broadcast.
Have you ever fancied giving yoga a go? Well now we’re all stuck indoors, it’s a fantastic time to try it out! Popular YouTube channel Yoga with Adriene provides a playlist of videos specifically designed for beginners that are a great way to get started. The videos range in length, focus on different parts of the body and are a fantastic way to relax after a long day working from home!
If dancing is more of your thing Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse is streaming live dancing lessons through her Facebook, YouTube and Instagram pages. Each session is a different style of dance and the classes are a fantastic way to learn different styles of dancing from a pro! Oti provides regular updates of her sessions on her facebook page
Lastly, if following a live exercise workout isn’t your thing and you just want to fit a short workout in the NHS website offers a series of basic 10 minute workouts for you to follow. There are 6 routines, each focusing on a different part of your body, the NHS suggest trying 1 routine per day to improve your general health and to strengthen your key muscles.
