Lockdown Extended for a Further Three Weeks

The government announced on Thursday 16th April that lockdown will be extended for a minimum of a further three weeks.

The announcement was made by Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab who is deputising for Boris Johnson whilst the prime minister recovers from COVID-19. Dominic Raab warned that “relaxing any measures in place” would “undo the progress we have made”.

The measures in place remain the same meaning people can still leave their home to exercise once per day, to shop for essential items such as food, for medical assistance, or to go to work if it is not possible to work from home.

It is recommended to exercise daily if possible for the mental and physical benefits it provides. There are various websites which can help you plan an outdoor workout. For cycling visit: https://www.cyclestreets.net/, for walking and running visit: https://gb.mapometer.com/walking.

If you would prefer to exercise inside there are free workouts online, Joe Wicks for example, is broadcasting live 30 minute workouts on his YouTube channel every Monday to Friday at 9am.
